The Last Day Before the Next Phase of My Life
Today, Monday, July 4th I am sitting in what tomorrow will become Bogota Latin Bistro. Tomorrow we open our doors to the public. They've already been knocking and asking us when we're opening. We even sold a few Colombian sodas to a few that managed to walk in while the doors were unlocked and were curious.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, July 5th, I walk into my day job to submit my resignation from a job I've had for 15 1/2 years. It comes to an end very unceremoniously. Am I having feelings about it? Sure, I am. It's the end of a chapter in my life and tomorrow begins the new one. Tomorrow I walk out of there no longer an employee of a law firm but an owner of a beautiful new restaurant that I, along with George, worked very hard to create.
There is still so much to do here at the space including hanging pictures, setting up the bar, fixing up the patio, and cleaning, cleaning and cleaning.
It's exciting and scary at the same time. Both sides of the same coin, as they say. I'll let you know how tomorrow at work goes. I was told by my supervisor that I MUST come back by Tuesday after my 2 week leave of absence.
